What is Cooling?
Cooling involves reducing the temperature in the home to a comfortable level using a central air conditioner.
Types of Cooling Systems
- Central Air Conditioning: Cools air with a furnace or air handling unit blowing it through ducts.
- Split-System AC: Connects an outdoor compressor to any number of inside handling units without any need for ducts.
- Heat Pump Systems: Cools or heat the air passing it through the home in ducts.
- Hybrid (Dual Fuel) Systems: Combines an electric heat pump with a gas furnace switching between the two for maximum efficiency.
- Geothermal (Ground Source) Heat Pumps: Uses a heat pump and an underground pipe loop to draw heat from the earth in winter and pass heat to the earth in summer.
