Control Board
What is a control board?
A control board manages all operations of a furnace including ignition, fan speeds, gas line, and safety switches. It works with the thermostat to turn on the combustion motor to exhaust harmful gases and the blower motor to send air to the heat exchanger. It works with the flame sensor to ensure the furance is operating safely and turns off the gas if the flame is not detected. It controls all the heating cycles of the furnace to ensure consistent heating throughout the home.
Where is it located?
It is usually found behind a small metal door in the furnace cabinet near the blower motor.
