Flame Sensor
What is a flame sensor?
A flame sensor is a stainless steel rod that is used to detect if a flame is present. It uses a process called flame rectification which sends a signal through the flame to determine if it is there. If the flame on your burner is not there it will shut off the gas supply and the furnace to protect from any gas leaks.
Where is it located?
The flame sensor is found in the burner assembly directly in front of the burner.
