What is the igniter?

The igniter is a component of a gas furnace that ignites the burners from gas from the gas line. It is the replacement to the pilot light on older gas furnaces.

Where is it located?

The igniter is located in the burner assembly in the upper compartment.

Keep the ignite free from carbon build up and clean with fine sandpaper or steel wool every 3 months

Lifespan

The lifespan of the flame sensor is 3 - 5 years.
